or the way he moves! This is a great week for sharing news. First, a few nights ago, Jim felt the baby move!! We were sitting together on the couch, and Jim had his arm around me, resting on the side of my belly. Suddenly, in Jim's words, "whap!" He jumped and asked me- did you feel that? was that the baby? I laughed and said yes. "Wow." Then, whap! whap! whap! "Whoa, baby, settle down!" I think the baby wanted to play with his Dad. Jim thinks the baby was being territorial and telling him to "get off my belly space." Either way, it was pretty neat.
Then yesterday, one of our volunteers gave birth to a baby girl! Today we popped up to the hospital to say hi from the whole staff, and to drop off some little presents for the big brother and sister! It was pretty neat to hold Holly- she looked just perfect. It's hard to believe just 2 days ago she was INSIDE her mom!
Today we also had another pre-natal appt. I had that glucose test to see if I have diabetes. I was more worried about blood being drawn than the drink- boy, did I have that wrong. That little bottle of innocent looking orange stuff was the WORST thing I have ever tasted. And since I had to drink it within 5 minutes- ugh. I almost threw up twice. Thankfully it's over, though I'm still not feeling so great. (Kinda like a few hours after you eat a ton of Easter candy- but without the pleasant chocolate aftertaste!). Anyway, we'll get the results by Monday. Can you believe that next month we move to appts every 2 wks?
On a bright note, my cousin was able to bring her baby boy home this past week. Keep praying as they adjust to having a preemie - and a second child- around ;)
