Happy Easter!

Joy & Peace to everyone!! We had a fairly full weekend, with the Vigil last night and an Easter Egg Hunt (more of a giveaway) this morning. Mom cooked some great food - including lasagna, which we ate at 10:30pm last night- I was so hungry after the vigil! Today we had a nice relaxing day together. The pics here show the 3 of us, and our new fishtank (courtesy of some awesome friends). Notice the hat accessories.. we wore these for the kids this am (over 200 showed up for Mass & Eggs)... Jim of course was the Easter Bunny, and I am (in case it's not obvious) a "Delicate Flower" - to quote one of my brother's fave nicknames for me.
In Baby News- we had a Nutrition class this week, in which we met yet another awesome Mom who taught it... and we met 2 other neat couples, one of whom is due about 2 days before us. So who knows, maybe we'll see them again! We also reviewed (yet again) the importance of me staying hydrated- apparently, esp. in the summer, dehydration can lead to early labor. OH, and we learned that soft serve ice cream has about twice as much accessible calcium as the stuff in the tub. Not bad to know!
Pls. keep the prayers going for my brother's job hunt! Love to all....

Latest View from the Womb

Well, folks, heeeeeeeere's B! This is a nice profile pic of his/her head.
Sorry about the streaks, but our scanner is tempermental. You can see a cute button nose, the mouth, a bit of the ear... and the little blob above the body is one of the hands.
The pic isn't too clear because I forgot to go with a full bladder (whoops)! We did see lots of bones... the thigh bone, the spine, some ribs, a tibia (or was it a fibia?). And, of course, the heart beating furiously! All the measurements were good, and the due date stays July 28...
oh, and our baby is in the 51% percentile- meaning his/her growth is average. At first, I was a little disappointed (I'm used to scoring high on tests), but then I realized a smaller tyke might be easier to deliver! I'll be trying to drink more water of course.... all in all, things are good.
---
And.... thanks for prayers for Kelsey. She delivered Michael earlier this week- -two months early ! He's tiny, doing okay in general, but please keep them all in your prayers.

Thanks for checking in!

B Moves...

Hey folks- news from this past week... 1) Jimdad is getting really good at using the heartbeat monitor and 2) I felt the baby move! I was laying on the couch with my feet up (which happens a bit too often, but hey). Then...it was a very odd sensation... like one of those water tubesnakes that slips through your hand. I was telling Jim "I think B is right here", pointing to a spot about 4 inches above my left hip. So he grabs the heartbeat moniter, and wa-la! Instant heartbeat. So cool...

I think we have another appt. soon -- so tune in next week for some new ultrasound pics!! Thanks for all the prayers....

ps- "B" refers to "baby", not a specific name or gender ;)

PS

I'm happy to report that the baby appears to like baseball and Thai food! Hurray :)

Listen to this !!

Hey folks! Here's a fun one... the video above is a short clip of JimDad listening to the baby's heartbeat! How cool is that? You can hear the heartbeat too... Of course, I'm there listening, but off camera- I'm not quite wanting to show my belly on the net yet ;) We found this latest gadget and decided to rent it for a month or so just for fun & connectedness...

My other big moment this week came when I found some GREAT maternity shorts. Holy cow, they're SOOOOOOO comfortable! I don't know what I was thinking about maternity clothes or why I waited this long to get some, but WOW. I am really loving these 2 pair of shorts. Hey recent moms, if you remember any decent places to shop or pieces that I *must* have, drop my a line and let me know... oh, and have any of you tried the Bella Band? A friend down here recently recommended it.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY THERESA!! Hope it's a good year :)

That's it for today. Please keep praying for Kelsey & baby, and my brother's job- thanks. See you next week!
